Darius is a Karkadon potentiate from the Southern Savanna region. He is the son of Narsani and the elder brother of Omar. He and Omar travelled together to Massina to become Challenger's in the arena. Darius was protective and strict, even as little Omar had grown steadily larger and stronger.
When Darius was not chosen as Challenger, he instead became an acolyte in The House of Life, whereupon he witnessed his brother's death at the hands of Gezzik in the arena due to the Emperor being upset with Maestro Magellan. With a little help from Prometheus, Darius took Omar's $ESSENCE and some of his own $BONE to the Osteomancer, had a silver scimitar forged and named it Omar. He then swore vengeance on Giotto and Gezzik for their parts in Omar's death. [1]
